It is way too hot for clothes today, but I light-weight want to see Snow White.
I also fell asleep and had a dream about mushrooms growing out from the tops of my feet and it was really vivid. This is an example of why I do not to drugs. Whether it be lucid dreaming, day dreaming, or regular dreaming, my head is already a trip.
Ted Leo - “La Costa Brava” Live (by YoungAmerican)
Ted Leo is a good man, a beautiful man. I’ve carried (will carry) his music with me always. Shouted his words like they were my own. Tried to play my guitar like him. And I love that he stands behind rhyming “ghost” with “toast” because by god, I stand by it too!
She used to stare at me attentively, just like she would to everyone else. But there was a change one day, her gaze was more intrusive and I felt my whole body give in on itself. I was her’s right then, and I knew from then on that I would I want to be anything she would want me to be.
I’m going to the Glaad Media Awards on Saturday and I’m pretty excited…
Swoon for Dianna Agron.
Look what I found for $2 at Amoeba still in the package 1st cd print!
You know how long I’ve been looking for this?! Pretty much all my life because I refuse to pay eBay $80 for a used 2nd print.
Let me tell you what Villa Villakula means to me…
I was a very nerd child, at the age of 10 I always knew I wanted to be a record label owner. I mean, once, my mother gave me voided blank checks for my brother and I to play with. My brother signed them like he was the Monopoly Man and I signed them like I worked at Ruff Ryders Records (what? that label was really prominent back then, don’t judge).
By age 11 I was reading about all the labels I could find. I also had more developed tastes from one year to the next, so I was fascinated by Lookout!, Hellcat, Kill Rockstars, Subpop, Adeline, Chainsaw. My punk and riot grrrl flags proudly went up the staff.
On one particular Sleater-Kinney trip that year, I read about the Villa Villakula and I was in complete awe. You see, I always knew I wanted to have a record label, but it wasn’t until then that I actually knew why. The Villa Villakula, didn’t start to make money or be the next Sony Records, it was a total accident! She literally wanted to release her friends’ (Ruby Falls) music because she thought they should be heard and no one was giving them the time. Villa Villakula turned into a home for talented women to share their work free of social constrictions of how a woman should present herself and the oppression of women in music business.
I was just that simple in motivation. From that point on I knew what I wanted to discover new music, help artists’ sounds reach people, be a part of various counter-cultures/movements, and most importantly, be socially conscious as a label with damn good tunes.
To this very day my Watchmaker Records follows that same honesty. I Moved into the Villa Villakula and never moved out.
[P.S. I’ve always had this comp on mp3 files, so being as Move Into… has been out of print for forever, I’ll send the entire file to anyone that wants it.]

Happy. Just in my swim shorts, barefooted, wild-haired, in the red fire dark, singing, swigging wine, spitting, jumping, running– that’s the way to live. All alone and free in the soft sands of the beach by the sigh of the sea out there.

I could not be more proud of you.
How do I stop a ‘friends with benefits’ relationship from going too far? I thought I made my intentions clear but last night she kept trying PDA in front of her friends. I don’t know what to do.
is this a thing that people struggle with? having people make out with them too much? how do i make this my life?

I Wanna Riot - Rancid (by cretzooo23)
You don’t even know how much this song was relevant / shaped my teenage years and still speaks to me.
I think I’m gonna take myself out on a date tomorrow… and by date I mean grab some pizza and wander around the Mission.
